Polycarboxylate Ether PCE Mother Liquor (General-Purpose Type)

PCE general-purpose mother liquor is a versatile base polymer solution with 40-50% active PCE solids, produced directly from the polymerization process. It features a balanced molecular structure suitable for formulating various finished PCE admixtures. It is the most flexible and widely used starting material for concrete admixture companies and construction chemical formulators.

General-purpose mother liquor features a balanced molecular design that provides a middle ground between water reduction and slump retention. Standard mother liquor may be optimized for specific base properties. The general-purpose type is designed for maximum formulation flexibility, allowing it to be converted into water-reducing, slump-retaining, or precast-type finished admixtures through the addition of appropriate modifiers and functional additives.

By adding different functional additives, general-purpose mother liquor can be formulated into water-reducing admixtures for general concrete, slump-retaining admixtures for long transport times, early-strength admixtures for precast, pumping aids, and specialty products for self-compacting concrete. The same mother liquor batch can produce multiple finished product types, reducing inventory complexity for formulators.

Store in HDPE, stainless steel, or lined tanks at 5-40°C. Avoid freezing, which can cause polymer precipitation, and temperatures above 50°C, which accelerate polymer degradation. Keep containers sealed when not in use to prevent contamination. Gentle agitation before use restores uniformity if any settling has occurred. Under proper storage, shelf life is 12 months.

Direct use is possible but may result in excessive foaming, variable air content, and limited shelf stability. For reliable performance, defoamer addition is recommended at minimum. Most users blend the mother liquor with 0.1-0.5% defoamer and adjust concentration with water to produce a stable, ready-to-use finished admixture.
