Polyaluminum Chloride PAC-28 (1327-41-9)

Polyaluminum Chloride PAC-28 is a medium-high basicity grade of PAC with 28% Al₂O₃ content. It is a yellow powder coagulant designed for applications requiring faster floc formation and higher settling velocity, widely used in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment.

The three grades differ in Al₂O₃ content and basicity. PAC-28 sits between PAC-26 (26% Al₂O₃, medium basicity) and PAC-30 (30% Al₂O₃, high basicity). PAC-28 offers faster settling and better turbidity removal than PAC-26, making it ideal for medium to high turbidity wastewater, while being more economical than PAC-30 for applications that don't require ultra-high basicity.

PAC-28 is best suited for municipal wastewater treatment, industrial effluent treatment in textile, paper making, and food processing industries, and sludge dewatering operations. It performs particularly well on medium to high turbidity waters where faster sedimentation and higher throughput are desired.

PAC-28 is highly effective in sludge dewatering applications. Its medium-high basicity and 28% Al₂O₃ content produce dense flocs that release water readily during mechanical dewatering. This results in higher cake solids content, reduced sludge volume, and lower disposal costs compared to lower-basicity coagulants.

PAC-28 powder should be stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area in tightly sealed containers away from moisture and direct sunlight. The product is hygroscopic and should be protected from humidity. Use HDPE or stainless steel equipment for solution preparation and dosing. Shelf life is 12 months under proper storage conditions.
